EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

Happy Easter All!!! Not sure if I'm in the right place or not but I have a question. LOL!!! I put eggs under my broody BO And she has been on them now for 3 weeks. I can hear a pecking or tapping sound when I put the egg to my ear but nothing else. I don't see any pips and no chirping. The eggs I put under her are jubilee Orpingtons. Should I worry or do they take longer to incubate?

Better than my cockerel that hung itself with a towel label from the towel on mhp. He fell off the ramp out the pop door and the towel only came part way. Sad, but unreal the odds against that happening, but fire seem to have a knack for finding the oddity and getting in trouble.
They REALLY do.

I'm all about darwin awards except when it's a 75 dollar bird.

Happy Easter.

If it is under a broody I would leave it alone. It will hatch or not.

I know you meant it completely innocently, but the image that popped into my head when phrased that way, had me LOLing ^.^
I'm such a child sometimes. ^.^  :lau

You're lucky. I've yet to find any way to order them from any feed store here with in 300 miles, and the only people who deliver to where I live, was Metzer Farms.
I have had to train myself to use the term cock because the Heritage Rhode Island red people get mortally offended if you use rooster because it is a not correct term.

I use rooster, because I can't say cock with out having inappropriate thoughts in my head, I'm immature and I don't want to deal with my own brain.

"What a GREAT cock!"

It just goes down hill from there.

At this point you are best to leave her and them be. Just wait a day or two as hard as it is and you will know. Disturbing them can cause issues. Good luck. Go chickies :jumpy
