@Saris Dipping the eggs was only for those not of the infected flock. It was also necessary to remove any eggs from the infected flock before they pip and clean the incubator. The chicks of the flock would have been carriers.
The water temperature is crucial. The eggs we did that were further along had a higher survival rate than those that were earlier. I was not there so I don't know how well she did on keeping the water temperature right at 100. What is going on?
im not gonna cull it just because it doesnt look right. i can keep it for my mix flockBecause they are a work in progress!!
TOTALLY to be expected in a breed like this.
It is just a cull that you can't use to breed with.
I got one too.
No need for drama lama!!

Thanks, he has very green tail and wing feathers, but these are blow ups of long distance shots as he is very camera shy.Nice contrast between the dark and light feathers.
Quote: I'm glad they are improving!
Quote: That's correct Chicken Hawk.
I'm waiting for results on a necropsy. I fear MG. I have eggs from my chickens and eggs from @TJChickens
in the same incubator.
I don't know when my flock was infected (before or after setting eggs) or if newly hatched chicks can be tested for MG or not.
This is the first outbreak of symptoms that I've seen and it's bad in my younger chickens and in one of my older birds as well so I don't know if it's a new infection or not.
I have a contact at the major vet university that studies these if you want her information.I'm waiting for results on a necropsy. I fear MG. I have eggs from my chickens and eggs from @TJChickens
