Yes. Still, a broody doesn't treat her eggs any different on day 11-14 vs before or after that.

Where's the best place to get chick boxes?

Got my feet wet with eggs, now considering dipping my toes into chicks.

You have to use the boxes they say like Liz showed.

You need to put the hatch date and your NPIP number on the box. I was told I needed to put a 9-3 with the birds too, I am going to put that under the pads. I have been just emailing them, but thats not legal.

The chicks cannot be over a day old when you mail them. I assume that means less than 2 days...Which means 1 day 23 hours and 59 minutes is still legal.

They have to be sent early in the week so they are not sitting in a post office over a weekend or holiday.

There are some temperature requirements too, I think it is above 35 and below 85. But not sure of the exact temps. Do not mail them late in the day and believe the post master when she says they can make a 6pm flight/plane when they are picked up at 5 and the airport is 90 minutes away. They do not hold the plane like she says....

Thanks! Yes, it does. I'm up for recert this month so I have lots of questions to ask the guy. He spent most of his time last visit trying to convince me I didn't need it. :/ I wasn't very impressed with him. The state vet was much more helpful. The tester kept saying "well, I don't know why he would tell you that." It was frustrating. :/

My book of forms came in the mail, which is why I had no idea what I was doing. He didn't do much more than ask how I stored my feed and then blood test the birds.

Have you shipped older birds? My hona mentor has shipped adult birds before. I was thinking about practicing on some older chicks. I know they need a health form, I have a vet who can do that.

I think that I am going to EXPLODE,!!

Tomorrow is the matriculation exam in biology, and my oldest will have to take it. 3 weeks I am telling him that he HAVE sest and learn with me a very important subject in genetic (20% of the exam )subject that I KNOW that he doesn't know very well. More then 5 time I have asked from him to seat with me but he always avoided, "I am learning "I will learn with friends " and all this B.S!
This morning I asked him again to seat with me but he preferred to learn with his friends, but his LORDSHIP finally agreed to seet with me this evening, when we set I understood that he doesn't remember even THE BASIC TERMS!! And he with his impertinence said "OK lets learn " he really thinks that we can cover subject that needs 3 days in a few hours!! I exploded and tell him that I can't help him, and he should go to his friends to learn! ST......,!!!

What a stupid age! He really think that they know everything!
But he just forgot the fact that the things that I have forgotten he didn't learn yet!

Well, for those of you who have not tried spaghetti squash instead of pasta for spaghetti, I highly recommend it. Pasta makes me fiend so I tried this several years ago with trepidation because most of the low calorie or alternate foods to be 'healthier' to me are not acceptable. I would rather do without than ruin something I like but have to just eat occasionally. I am having it now.

My cat just jumped up and stole a piece of asparagus from the bowl beside me???? Weird.
