Can I come stay in your spare room for a while? I'll bring my framing nailer.I don't want to hear complaints from you who have cool mornings. We are already in the sixties which is my idea of a high, and headed into the eighties![]()
Like shampoo bottles: "Rinse, lather, repeat", 'til the bottle's empty.Since someone here pointed out to me there are instructions on a floss package on how to use floss....
I have decided the world is getting close to the edge...
Today I think we slipped over the edge.
This is on the back of a package of laundry tub drain plugs...

Nice to know no tools needed....but why would you buy them if you did not know how to use them?

Hi whites! yes and in this rain. My hands were shriveled prunes in short order. Went out early to work on goats pens and dumb rain and cold!!!! hate it, RA dont like that crap one bit How about you and the Mrs.?![]()
did yo udo anything for him @daxigait ??
Stevia, easy to grow tooPowder, from the store, with only enough sugar to kill the bitterness. How do you make it at home? Is there a way to sweeten it a bit w/o sugar....Doc said I'm pre-diabetic, & it's in my family (mother, sister, brother)
really? i'll have to try itAgave nectar - meant to Be healthier than sugar for diabetes
LOL but you have babies in there tooI swear I keep hearing chicks pip. It's not even day 7 yet.![]()
@Akrnaf2 did you see them??Congratulations. It is a good thing you didn't give them very many. I can't believe it has been three weeks already since she went broody.
@meltel I am so sorry this happened. What are you going to have to do career wise?
I got a steal today. After talking to a couple on the route we ride it turned out their twelve year old has goats, but doesn't want to take them to the sale barn. So I asked how much for the goats. Kid you not he said $25. I tried to tell him that was way low, but that is all he wanted. I took all six plus deposited on the three not weaned yet. They are boar kiko and while several are small they will improve with groceries. Sale barn prices are $3-4 a pound and all of these kids but one are over fifty pounds. I have never been lucky enough to get a deal like this before. There was one really nice buckling that was not weaned yet I hope to grow out. The rest I will put some weight on, and then decide who stays and who goes. I will profit either way![]()

Boy though my two week old kids look much better. Here are three of my four.

@Akrnaf2 Shalom. Here are the updated pictures I promised of the beautiful Nubian Benny. I just wish his beautiful red roan showed up better in the pictures from my phone.

Have a great night/day.
stevia is great and WICKED easy to grow!Or need to have had the kind of day I had had... (Rum fruit cake is all gone!!! Yum!!!!)
Monkey's comb looks like that, though worse sometimes. I was thinking it was an infection, but I think the prob;em for me is that he for some reason roosts at the end under the lowest part and brushes his comb against the HW cloth. I've done silver sulfadiazine, and it got better, then it's back. I need to do it again. I may just bring him inside for a few days once this tractor building craziness stops (he's overbreeding his girls anyway).
I'm having a hard time visualizing -do you have it running underneath the floor of the run, or just dug down at the sides?
Try stevia - natural (from an herb), best in liquids like tea (vs baking). Just don't add too much - using a small amount is perfect, no after taste or off taste, but overdoing it has a sort of Sweet & Low taste. I use drops - they seem expensive (are expensive), but last forever.

that fridge is going to STINK!!Another full day of work. I really do need stock win zip ties. I only got one finished, but at least I was able to move the S&G boys (the messiest of the bunch) out this evening. Here are some photos (before I finished tacking the apron down). This is the cleanest this coop will ever look, of course. I moved them to the roost after dark. No idea how easy it will be for them to get up there - they may need a ramp. (Big boys!)
Three more to go. I worked on the next one until I lost the light. Then I gathered eggs by headlamp, finding Trinity (my black NN) trying to sleep in the nest box - I SO don't have time for dealing with a broody... Put her on the roost, put the S&Gs up on the roost, and then was so tired that I just had camping food for dinner (Mountain House Chicken & Dumplings). I don't think I've sat down since 7:30am... Too tired for a bath, but not an option. Heres hoping I don't fall asleep in there...
I'm actually seriously considering just waiting the conversion out rather than setting up on Bang Your Head... So much to do. (I also have to clean out the fridge - but not tonight.)

its easier not toSomething that I really can't understand, in Hebrew we have only 3 times, past, present, and future! With you guys I loose my head, never grasped it!
Congratulations!!!Good morning all - I'm pleased to report that this morning I have 10 healthy fluff balls. That's 100% hatch rate on my first hatch in 14 years. They are truly adorable. Thanks for the help and advise x
me tooI still am trying to adjust to the new board/layoutstyle and I am going to miss this one. This one made sense.
i'm watching you!!! you better come back after the site change!Lately I just don't know.
thats great!!!I am on there, i'll try to figure out how to use it.
Also - doing these staggered batches hasn't really harmed my hatch rate. And, my kids LOVE waking up every morning to see if a new baby hatched. This might be the way to go for future eggs.
Every couple of days, there's a turkey, or a silkie or something popping out. LOL
Opening it up, hasn't harmed my hatch rate, really and I've only been turning them 2-3x a day.
I think it was yesterday, but that's the case, there is more than one!
awesome!!If anyone else was interested in the ribz front pack they are on sale and actually in stock at Armstrong Survival gear. Only 39.95 compared to 60+.
LOL, you'll have time for a read back when its frozen!!2666 posts behind. Ok then.![]()
awwww
Hi everyone. good news is I joined BYH-Meltel as always. dont let me get lost!!!! bad news I spoke 2 soon. went to bed at 10 and woke up at midnight in pain an tears. hand /wrist entire arm was on fire/horrible pain. I am praying this dr figures something out or sends me to somebody that can. finally went to sleep at 8am after Bill got home and slept until 1 with the assistance of about 7 different meds. I am gonna crash again soon now that the birds are fed. Like I said when the site goes down-don't lose me!!!@daxigait Not sure about work but not even thinking about it at this point-my cousin said that even with the best treatment I have a long road to recovery and just to focus on getting well and staying sane (as sane as I can be!) Part of this disease affects the limbic system of the brain and it does have psychological affects including short term memory loss, confusion and depression/anxiety. I think it felt pretty good yesterday so I did more than normal and it flared up (normal is not very much these days). so today is rest with my arm on a pillow and heating pad and epsom salt baths. Thanks everybody for the well wishes. I am back off to try o get some rest and calm this arm down.![]()

You shot your egg eith a bird shot?![]()
Doing good! Mom brain is in full force but the class is going well. I take my NIPT test and blood screening next week, we'll be able to find out if we're having a boy or girl.
Slowly building up al the things I want that I don't trust people to buy the right thing lol. Got the baby carrier, almost all the diaper stuff, and I'm sitting on the bedding until I know which the lil potato ends up being.
Dentist appointment tomorrow though. May have a cavity. WE WILL SEE.
it could be a number of things but we already figured that the temp was too low, they may still hatch or they may not, there is no way to tellHi! No more news about the 15 eggs @Sparkle110 and I have. I'm getting worried it's the end of day 23 and STILL nothing. We last candled them at 14 days and only 3 were questionable! I don't see what went wrong!
please help....
cute chicks!
chaosHey guys, who had Dominique's? A new poster is trying to get hers sexed.
chaosI was thinking Chaos or jwlpoultry.???
good for you! lolI may, or may not have conned my husband into feeding all the birds by claiming my OCD doesn't allow me to be out there with people "helping" me and our daughter "asked" to feed the birds... I kind of freak out about people doing it wrong ^.^ I have a system. I don't like people MESSING with that system. I know she likes to feed the birds, so I convinced him he had to help her. ^.^
I really just wanted to stay inside today and watch rosewood and get rid of this migraine and snuggle my cat/dog together. I'm a bad chicken mommy today.
you need another terrierWater moccasin. Cotton mouth. That's the one we see the most of. We used to have a camp dog, little feist-sized terrier of some sort, who would sniff them out and then agitate it til someone killed it. She got bit on the nose, nearly killed her. Every bite after that was less severe until she was practically immune.![]()
![]()
i hope that dog got 1st!I was judging a field trial once when the handler's dog pointed a Copperhead. Nobody got hurt. Another friend is a pro trainer west of here, closer to the mountain; he kills 2 or 3 rattlers every year when he's training.
so cool!! i want some!!Spent a lot of time tidying up early today, so when I got to about 4pm or so, I suddenly hit the wall. After work, I crashed for a few hours, and realized there was no way any building was happening. Tomorrow...
Trinity is wanting to go broody. Why is it only when I already have chicks and when it's getting hot out?! (Maybe I'll let her set next year, but I held her a while off the nest. We'll see if I have to get more serious about breaking...)
Meanwhile, I had a visitor in the front yard today. One of the neighborhood's feral peafowl. (Yes, I know, I need to mow...) She was away from the flock - I wonder if it's the same one that has hung out here before. (Makes me wonder if she might consider laying eggs and brood on my property.)
![]()
Think I'm heading to bed early tonight. Conversion is tomorrow morning. I'll see you guys in a few days!![]()
- Ant Farm
me too!!Feral peafowl? I want one.![]()
Conversion isn't until 11 AM your time, I think, so you still have time to blabber a bit.
awww, cute, looks like you guys had fun
sounds coldHad to crank up the woodstove this morning to thaw out the shower head, but I think it's good to go now. BBL
