What were your temperatures during incubation? (I ask because if they were low, they can sometimes hatch late.)

(Did you calibrate your thermometer? Sometimes they can be off.)
My temperature was on 97-98. I didn't really think of calibrating my thermometer, how do u do that?

No I don't! I just have a lot on my to do list!!! :plbb

Nothing smells good like a wet chicken! :lau

(I may or may not have smelled her when cuddling...)

Kristen see this, especially at 9:00

That is SO cool!!!!

That temperature is WAAAAAY too low. Depending on your incubator, you should be running no less than about 100F (fan) or a little higher (still air). Your hatch will definitely be late, and the chicks may have some problems because of the low temps. Calibration information at the beginning of the thread (for next time - nothing you can do about it now).

So I candled them and there seems to be veins in them and an air sack. Does this mean they're still alive? Everything else is too dark to identify

Well, veins generally means alive. Be patient. It will be late if the make it. Other folks may pipe up about other problems you might face. As Benny said, before your next hatch, take a look at the info at the beginning of the thread.

Oh, and it occasionally slows down here, but hopefully someone will be around or come around soon if you have other problems or questions when they start to hatch. While you're waiting, you can start reading that still in the beginning of the thread - there's good info about what to do with difficult hatches, etc., which may be useful to have read ahead of time. :thumbsup
