EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

Quote: Thank you!!!

Quote: When they hatch they produce an off white bird with grey flecks. Has to be a leghorn cross. The cool thing about them is they are super super mellow, and of course they lay large to x -large eggs every day for what seems like weeks without a break.

Not sure they would deal well free ranging as they are not smart. Not a problem here as any free ranging chook would be bobcat lunch pretty fast. The wildlife take small dogs and any house cats that get out around here.
interesting!!! afternoon Phage!

Ideal has finally got back to me, so good to know, they are MIA over the weekend... they are going to refund cost of chicks and shipping as replacement wouldn't survive in such a small amount of chicks... Works for me, I'm still sad for the cuties who passed though.
great news!!!

Quote: and more eggs!! good luck with them!!!

"I have an adult doe who has come down with terrible scours. Ran a fecal checking for typical causes but instead I found a lot of these. I ran 3 different fecals on this doe over a 24 hour period and all have these in them. At first I thought they were plant matter but there are a fair # of them on each of the 3 slides. Checked a fecal on a random healthy herd mate and didn't find any of these.

Suggestions?"

@casportpony this is how she presented those images

It doesn't look like a parasite, or a parasite egg to me.

I can't really tell the magnification of the photo.

If low mag, it could be a tiny, nasty seed.
If high mag, it could be a shell from some microscopic freshwater critter (see examples below)
or a structural part of a plant.

Thank you!!

do you know how ridiculous it is, that it took me 30 minutes to convince my goat to cooperate to be milked since I don't have a stand and it's a two person job to hold/milk her right now?

My husband had better get my milking stand built tonight or he's gonna get his butt kicked.

Lol

@Sally SunshineYour BMC is beautiful. Did you enter that second photo in the fall photo contest?

@AlilSassyHow are your chicks doing?

Good afternoon everyone! :frow
