@Akrnaf2 yes, when I am not busy with spring chores or work I have been preparing for both my Yellowstone trip and my next karate test. It has been busy because there is a physical preparation for the pack trip and for the It has been busy because there is a physical preparation for the pack trip and for the backpacking trip. Not to mention the things that I have had to learn that I know nothing about. And Equipment I've had to learn to use. There still a list of that. I have also worked on my way to take off the weight I gained when I hurt my ankle so badly last year. It was hard to get started, but once I start it's not really that bad. It is just making that mental decision. This way my pack weight will be cancelled out by the weight I've lost since I had gained just over 25 pounds.
I have been a bit laks at getting on my exercises for my hurt section of my back but I will definitely have to be all over that for the next two months or I will pay a nasty price.
I need to find someone who is good with cameras to just give me the basics on mine instead of me trying to figure it out from the manual. I am also going to be doing practice overnight camp where I set up my tent and use my stove in my water filter and all those little things. I have camped but not with having to use a bear polar some of these little stoves and water purifier since I usually do horseback camping. It has been fun though what was supposed to be just a little extra with Yellowstone became a very expensive extra with the equipment. Overall, the preparation and anticipation anticipation are turning out to be a fun part of the trip in a sense.

I had an eventful morning. Great big GIANT hawk (Gosh, was it an eagle?!) was looking for a chicken dinner. I was out changing out the water this morning before work (since it's going to be a super hot day) when it happened. Hated how impotent I felt, just stood around and watched, and yelled and waved my hands when it would swoop. It clearly didn't think I was worth even looking at. (And when it swooped, I honestly started thinking maybe *I* should take cover!) Not sure how well these pictures get across how large this was - wingspan was maybe 5 or 6 feet? Hard to estimate.

Fortunately, with the festooning of the top of the paddocks with all that flagging tape, and with the alerts being called out at high volume by ALL of the cockerels and roosters in the yard, everyone was under cover and no one got taken. Puppy (who was out in the open) also found cover quickly. It finally gave up and flew away after about 30 or 45 minutes. (I have the sense that this probably happens a lot while I'm at work, from the well orchestrated response.)

Geez....

Indeed, all this prepration and the anticipation will make this trip, much more important and meaningful! Only thing that came hard are the ones that we appreciate.

Hello!

I NEED SOME HELP FAST!
I was away for most of today and when I got home I found that a chick had "Hatched" but two problem it wasn't moving, and the brody had left the nest. in a panic I dropped the egg basket (thankfully empty) and ran to get some help. After about 5 minutes of ado I showed the half hated chick to my father not knowing if the poor thing was alive or not. My father told me that it was probably alive so what i then did is I gave it to another broody (Rainbow, who has a VERY good temperament) and she took it without a fuss and put it under her wing.
Is there anything else I can do? Can I get any advice? I'm really scared that I might lose it (If I haven't already XD) please help!
