EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

Don't forget to pickup some orange juice on your way home.
Where I'm at it's always the tomato trucks that's are loosing their produce.

Food wise, it's milk trucks here. Other trucks that turn are gravel, and sometimes people taking hay to auction have to bail out when the can't make the hill.

Hey guys. We are sitting here making plans for our duck run/house whatever you call it. What is a good idea to use in the run? Just leave it grass or pea gravel or concrete? Any ideas?

If they are anything like chickens the grass won't be there for long. I use deep litter for my chickens. Hay, leaves anything dry they can break up.

Sorry, no passport.
Get one.

When we have a power failure I'd have to get ice to cool eggs if I was incubating. :lau
Now that's certainly a southern-specific problem. :p

I'd use deep litter, made by dumping leaves, sticks, and other such stuff into the run and letting it decompose. What size will the run be? Mine is about 30' x 20' and DL worked great. It really helps take care of the mess that ducks make.
