We just had this conversation with someone else...who I shall not name.;) :lau

Our insurance costs increase a fair bit with a wood stove. And I don't believe you could put one in and run it until the whole thing was "inspected and approved." I think some insurance companies might even balk if it isn't a grandfathered situation. I know of someone who purchased a house...but couldn't use the fireplace because of the insurance.
All that may well be true in Canada; maybe in parts of the U.S. All I know it I never ran across it.
 
Maybe, but I am spoiled with the in-floor heating and rebel at giving up my toasty floors :lau
We don't have in-floor heating per se; we cut 2 holes in the floor & put 2 floor registers in them to allow the heat to come through
 
It's radiant heating, so the heat comes into the room through the floors. Just a different method of getting it warmer.
Sound too high tech for me.

I'll skip adding it to my next house.
