Could be but she got rid of turner after saving for it and went back to hand turning.

Does not change the fact there are a lot of strange myths with chickens that many people swear by.

I, being Mr NceSweetKind&Considerate just politely nod my head and say "uh-huh" to all these myths....... Then laugh to myself while playing guess the IQ,,,,

True enough, but I've never seen a hen wash her beak or wipe her.....

Personally I don't have time to hand turn.
The broody always wins the percent game at my house.

I couldn't do without my turners. There's no way id be turning them all by hand lol. I feel like the slight jostling then get in the turner helps make them stronger.

As for broodies, I don't trust them with anything! If I want something to hatch, it goes in the incubator.

Probably busy with life, getting ready for winter, that kind of stuff. But don't really know.
