For giving me shots of jack daniels last night to calm my nerves..
All morning was:sick:th

I was playing around wicked silly... but really do use listerine original formula, 50/50 with water. And handle the eggs with gloves. That way when I shake them vigiously they dont fly out of my hand.
D'oh...you were too fast for me...it wasn't tacky enough.:p
Nice!:thumbsup 'Cause you don't wanna to make a mess! runcirclsmiley2.gif

The gang got together a couple daze ago and cut an opening big enough for a full size pick up to get thru. That is how We got our freezers to the green zone. Last night at midnight, a power company rig clipped all the lines blocking the other way out. Every community around us has power, almost anyway. Being patient. Counting blessings. A giant tree cut our pigs off to the furest pen on the property. Got it city up but have to repair fences.
The worst of it was the chickens. We had damage to the big house and a bunch got tangled and mangled. After the storm we had to sperate bodies and remove the cannibals. It was a horror scene. We burned x amount of chickens on a pallet bon fire. Kept throwing them on over and over. We had countless chicks in brooders that needed heat and they were also cremated. Countless positive candled eggs in incubation. They exploded on the fire. It was a sad event. Our barn kept the teenagers alive. There is around 50 that are happy. 3 of our breeding houses were unscathed.
Goats were confused and screaming/crying all night. They hate water and they were drenched on our front porch, far away from the pasture trees that looked like fishing rods with whales on the hook.
I was more worried for my animals than anything. Its over as far as the storm is concerned but the memories are etched in my mind.
:hugs

If you want to conserve incubator space, pick a super jumbo egg. Take a tooth pick and make a small hole in the tip of the pointy end. Then take 2 or 3 other eggs and pour them into the jumbo egg. The trick is finding a water proof tape

A plastic egg from the Easter Bunny would be easier. :lau

Im having a time getting my tiny bearded d'uccle chicks water and feed small enough. I'm managing but there's got to be a better way. Anyone know any posts about the smaller bantam breeds and feeding?
So far I've mixed gro gel and smashed the crumbles up. Along with regular methods. But some have a hard time swallowing.
