IMG_8666.JPG IMG_8631.JPG My newest Cochins got to romp outside for a bit today.

@kwhites634 so did you make any progress on the tractor today? I have someone meeting me in half an hour to help me get the rest of my rafters up. My shoulder is bothering me a little too much still to wrestle 2 by 6 by 14's up by myself.
Some progress, not as much as I'd have liked, which is always the case.

What's the capacity of your tank? Will one delivery get you through to Spring?
I'm not sure of the tank size. 225? I use 1/4 tank average per month to keep the house at 65*

I filled up my propane tank last week myself not that I'm using much now that I'm burning wood. I much prefer that heat, and last winter I went through just under two ricks. I also used about 140 gallons of propane but that includes my water heater and stove along with the heater. Not to bad, but it was a mild winter, I don't have any kids, and so I don't keep my house too warm.
I usually fill the tank the first week of September. It's always cheapest then. This year... well, my mother paid for what she could. It's going to be a scary winter if it gets nasty.
@MotorcycleChick so what does Duckling think of her preschool?
She keeps getting injured. She won't stop peeing herself. Mention it, and she pees. No sleep ... She isn't doing so well.

That is scary. Both parts. Do you have a second heat source?

No, ma'am. The coal furnace in the house was removed about a year before I came into the picture. There is a coal stove in the garage, but the chimney is shot.
Would a woodstove be an option? We had a stainless steel, double walled chimney when we first went to wood heat.
