EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

I know the feeling. I lost two does, had one miscarry month four, and two beautiful doelings I was bottle feeding this spring. Freak accident, enterotoxemia, and anaplasmosis :hit
My Nanny who stroked out from my big billy buck was due to deliver in less than a week. The Buck smashed thru a fence post and 8000 volt hot wire, came after Shelia who didn't want to mate. Chased her down, stressed and stomped her. DH had to drag her out of the pasture after goat roping the sob buck. Sent me shopping while he put down Bam Bam, and buried him. 12 hours later he buried Shelia with her twins still in the oven...

If I listen to you guys, goats are a nightmare to own.
I don't listen to anyone here. If I did, there's no way I'd get them. Too much hassle.
What I'm doing is learning from a friend that can give me the basics without dumping extra stuff or "whatifs" on me. That's what I have done for every other animal I have owned.

Nahhh. Just a learning experience. A gross misconception of just get a goat and they eat everything and end of story. I have learned so much. the hard way.
If I had to do it again, I would. I love them.. Lots and lots of fun.. a wonderful return on labor and efforts.

Wow! Did Rural King get the blue australorps from a hatchery or local breeder?

I am using the quote feature. Is there any word on when the go back to original post up arrow will be fixed?
Oh, so it's a BYC problem? I hadn't read where anyone mentioned it, so I figured it was unique to my system.

:hugs:(

When we started w/goaties. It was easy-beazy..
With a herd, it increases the odds for unforeseen events.
The more you have the greater the odds of having new never before happened stuff. I was a total freaking wreck during the Hurricane. I heard my babies crying for 10+ hours.. I don't drink but DH made me to calm my nerves.
:hugs
Living in tornado alley I understand the feeling I have horses, goats, cows, and chickens and you just have to go to your shelter and pray.

Oddly I can get it to work on firefox but not on Chrome. It seems to be a browser compatibility issue. I will test on Edge and fire up one of the macs and see if safari has problems too

Works on Edge.
