It's been at least 27 hours since the ducks internally pipped, so I added air holes. The one on the right still has thick, dark veins. The one on the left has smaller veins, but I think I was looking at yolk. I didn't see anything but feathers in the one I hatched last night, so I'm saying these aren't ready. I'm not touching them again for 10-12 hours.

Five in the brooder, one in the hatcher. I'm going to move it when I candle again. It's HANGRY. Funny what you day about kids: gma and gpa showed up with a battery powered gator. DD hops in and putts around in 1st speed making sure bubba is safe in the back. Bubba's turn, he hops in straight to 2nd speed, throws DD in a turn and never looks back. Picked her back up she's screaming "too fast!!" and she jumps out and starts crying. He peeled out and left her again. Rammed into the fence, reversed, went on with life. Steering with one hand, shifting with the other, peels out when he starts, throws it into reverse to skid stop. DH said "he's just a little too casual about this."
