it does to me, I had a heck of a time with coccidia this summer being so wet with kids, I would sooner cold than damp n mud with kids. (i know I say that now lol)

This is the FIRST year since we had Goats, not breeding.. It was a wet wet summer. We treated our herd for much stuff. It was non stop pulling down eye lids checking health stats.
We would of bred for Winter babies. Much easier on our Nannies v.s. heat exhaustion in the spring our summers.

Good luck not becoming attached to the turkeys.. Turkeys are like big feathered dogs..

They follow us wherever we go, if we do not go outside often enough for their tastes, they jump on the deck and stare in to windows at us.

We have released our remaining Broad Breasted Bronze Turkeys to the pasture. They will be processed in November. So we are letting them spend the last few moments of their lives in a plush green pasture, then chop chop chop.

But it kills all the mosquitoes and spiders

They chit more than my chickens did and made everything stink.

Actually, I'm getting an Alpine and a ND or Pygmy. Probably Pygmy because there's a breeder in the same town as yours truly and less driving time with a goat in the car is always nice.

Babies in the winter? Doesn't sound like much fun at all.

Here in Florida is perfect for Kid Birth. All my offspring are Winter born. January and Feb. Maybe a March or two. We do have a mild 29*F here and there but it warms up fast the next day. I have birthing stalls that can be heated quickly for 911 events.
It will be strange this winter not having a handful of high energy babies running up walls and trees..

I am sad now...

Pygmies are cute.

Friend of mine has a pair. They're lap size.

Pygmy and minis don't tear up as much stuff as the meat goats will.
