so The Blues Brothers are fully out of quarantine and running rampid with the rest of the jerk roosters. first day or said they got their butts kicked but now they have turned into teacher's pets. they are called The Blues Brothers because they are double blue banded .
They were returned to us from a couple that bought a bunch of chickens from us and didn't care for Roosters. so ultimately in the end they were returned to us for free to spare them from the burden of raising Roosters from a straight run batch. If they are not rehomed they will be visiting the freezer camp. I hear it is nice in there this time of year

Looks like 2 dinners and a noodle soup there...

Want a lorp to do? He needs to go now but I'm a wuss.
Was thinking about your “lorp” while doing mine wondering if you had done it yet. Sure bring him by. Do you have australorp hens also?
I’ve got a replacement roo for my older meat bird if I continue in that direction.
I was thinking of Brahmas but they’d probably eat me out of house and home. Also looking at the Australorps as well.

Two families hatched some of my eggs. 5 roosters back so far. They have graduated from camp freezer awhile back. I kept the largest one to see how he planes out.

Nope. 3/3 Australorp chicks were roosters. :barnie
Straight run stinks.
Wasn't too impressed with any of them. They seem sour in temperament, hogs with feed, and not that good in body structure either. Maybe non-hatchery stock would be better.

Brahmas are so beautiful. Maybe one day I'll be able to get my hands on some again.

Thanks for the information on australorps.
Yes straight run is frustrating. First chicks we bought 4 of 5 were roosters.

He's already getting frostbite too. Could be because he's outside with no wind protection? I don't know, generally I don't see it until at least December so seeing it now is kind of odd.
