I'm being careful, alright; takes me longer to bundle up than it does to do what I go out there to do, and it's <100' from the house. Fortunately, I don't have to fill feeders every day (a tube feeder in one pen that lasts 3-4 days & a hanging feeder in the other pen that lasts even longer).Be careful when you have to venture out. We have the cold today and tomorrow, then is't supposed to warm up, even getting above freezing a few days next week.
Well we're doing it again today, but it always just varies I usually start anywhere between 4 and 6 in the morning but most days are closer to 11 to 12. But we had one guy get her to normally does this shuttle stuff and so we're all having to take turns at it and it's just back and forth and back and forth drop and hook drop and hook hook. I don't have to do that as often anymore because I have the most seniority and I refuse to start at 2 in the morning. That stinks, how long will that go on for?
I have to tell you the automatic door openers that I invested in are worth their weight in gold.
SorryThey say 2 more nights.. lost my 7 year old pineapple plants last night. Lemon and lime trees are damaged. Lost zero water pipes.. left water running a little all night.

Oh well...
It was that 3" of rain we got that froze us out.
First time in months I am inside the house this early in the morning..

It is about time. Congratulations!Thank you sir!
I know I have a lot of relentless nominators to thank.
That's about the size of it. I've thought about leaving the birds in the main pen shut up in the coop. It's small enough that the combined body heat would make it a bit warmer, but it would be a real mess in a couple hours. So if it wasn't for the frozen water, you wouldn't need to go out into it as often.
I still close the runs when I come home and do chores on the days I let them out, but I love my door openers. And I still have to deal with the horses in the cows and goat too. Mine probably wish they had doors too. The closest they have is that I pin the goats up at night.Wouldn't work in this case. It's the goat barn door that is getting closed. With as cold as it's been the goats are getting closed up.
