Had a nice weekend with temps above freezing. It was fun to watch the chickens get outside & do "chicken things." I used the opportunity to take some pics before the ground turned to mud.

I'm not sure about the hens, but I feel like I'm going broody. I can't wait to incubate/hatch some eggs from my laced orps.

Hey there everyone... Just pulled my homemade incubator out after 3 moves a fire and storage and I have exposed wires.. So now i will have to reread all the information and figure out what popped off and fix it. Lol which is fine, i need a good refreshers course anyway.

I’ve been wearing cleated boots all rain season so far so good.
Morning it’s raining so much for waiting till Wednesday

My mother's husband has those cleated things. I've never tried them. Not raining at the moment, but more is expected this evening and over night.

The chickens are rather enjoying the warmer weather. They are doing the whole free range thing.

I think Peter's talking about boots with cleated rubber soles & you're talking about the cleats with rubber straps that you pull on over the bottom of your boots. I have a pair of them that I don't wear if possible; they won't stay on my boots! More of a PITA than they're worth.

I just use muck boots. Work pretty good. Hopefully next time everything freezes up it won't go from rain to freezing real quick like last time. There was a sheet of ice underneath the snow everywhere. Now almost all the snow and ice is gone.
