What was the longest trip you ever made? I got Central America once & Arizona once, & wasn't even trying; I was on REACT duty at the time. I was only putting out 3w with a Starduster omni antenna. I still have my Lafaette SSB somewhere, I think. I know I have my "lollipop" mic....D201?...204?...been a long time.

Hubby was the radio junky. BUT he made my use a CB in my car 20+ years ago. It was a modified Cobra 29 I think. Texas star 350 amp. I didn't talk the skip. Just amused my DH on my rides home. He had a base station. He was always playing with that stuff. He had a tube amp that swung 2000 watts. Use to knock out tv signals across the neighborhood. AND MINE! I had BETA & VHS tapes for his radio nights.
26-27 yrs ago, his little man was born. Our son. The older he got, the less radio talk. Fishing, camping, shooting.. you name it.. peas in a pod.
He has tons of stuff boxed up. Saving it for who knows why.
I bring it up tonite at supper. To maybe answer your question.
I do remember keying up at a wendy's drive thru one day and the manager gripped at me when I got to the window.
