I was trying to remember what would make me walk barefoot across the lake (on the PATH!! I’m not Jesus!). I remember now. It was various reasons. Either because feet are easier to wash than tread, Sunday shoes are dangerous on certain surfaces, or a sister insisted on looking (especially one sister!), and didn’t want to risk her shoes. So whichever sister would wear mine, and carry her’s.

I was sleeping, and my phone rang. I freaked thinking, “who’s dead now?!” I must have rolled over on my phone. I’d called the neighbor. The loud one at that. Instant headache!!
