Does ma nature ever unplug the deep freeze, or does she just open the lid for a bit?

I’ll see if I can find some pictures of them. The roosters were really quite pretty just not what they were supposed to be. Fortunately my cost per bird was minimal due to hatching them myself. Out of 12 shipped eggs 6 hatched. I think the bid plus shipping was only $25-30. It was fun to try but I wouldn’t do it again.

At least you didn't put out the big bucks for them. I ran into a guy at the processor I occasionally use. He was raising them and selling to restaurants. Seemed to be doing ok with it.

The hen to the left is still alive I think. She stayed in this pen due to the others picking on her. I couldn’t keep her out of the bresse pen. She laid a green egg and lots of them.

It looks like we might be getting some above freezing weather. Gonna be terrible wet.

It pushed 70 here yesterday & the day before; I started thinking about shorts & t-shirts. Reality set in this morning when it was down into the 20's with snow headed this way.

In the 20's here this morning, too. It's supposed to snow later. Sally said they are expecting 6 inches or so tonight.

Eek! My sickly chick is now star gazing, is that wry neck? I picked her up to give her another bath, as there was some poo stuck to her butt.

Do you we give poly vi sol for that? I gave nutri drench, but I see it has no B vitamins.
