• 4 were labeled ?-able
• 50 left in the oven
• lock down in 5 days
• chicks out the ying-yang in 7 days.

BTW-
This is the first run with the new oven. Made by "Farm Innovators". Great results for a free oven.
Went a couple hours ago to get another one with my rebates, they were sold out. For the best I suppose. 4 ovens running is kind of too much.
Spring chicken sales here are soaring..

Hi All! Things have been busy, haven't spent much time on BYC. Winds - always an issue around here, but it's been somewhat quiet lately, just colder than normal. I hope that the trees stay up, and the coops don't get blown down for everyone! Good luck on your hatch Farmer Connie!!

I have 16 eggs in the bator - well 15 eggs and 1 chick as of a few hours ago. Problem is, I won what I though was 12 day old chicks, they turned out to be 2 week old chicks. I have one grow out coop available. I was hoping to grab one of the brooding silkies and put it in the grow out coop and Saturday slipping a few chicks under her.

What's the logic on a heat plate, 12 two week old chicks, with a broody mom and a dozen or so (hopefully) day old chicks? Will the broody mom try to kill the 2 week olds?

Is there any chance this might work out for all of them?

It was about this time of year when my run was blown down on a windy day. Since Hurricane Sandy, I’ve noticed a lot of strong winds. 60mph (and over) is fairly common.
Isn’t it hurricane season in Florida?
