My first time mama Bantam Cochin is almost too commited to sitting on these chicks. They’re three days old and it seems like she never gets up with them to eat or drink— I was home Sun-Monday and kept an eye on her. I spoiled the poor princess with a breakfast in bed yesterday as she’ll take food from my hands, but I worry the chicks aren’t eating and drinking enough. Am I just being a worrywort after doing so many broods myself without a hen to help me?

No. This morning there was a little snow along the edges of the pathway. Suddenly it began to snow, and the one inch was three in no time. I lost my satellite signal, and even the power for a short time. I slipped twice just walking outside.
