EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

I sure expected it too. I run temps higher in the little incubators which seems to help, or thermometers are always on cool side. I don’t think they are very well insulated. But I’ve never had a cabinet incubator to compare with.
Maybe poor insulation in my Hova Bators is the reason for the variance in temps for both of them, even with them completely closed up for days at a time; viewing windows let me check everything w/o popping the top. I always thought the variance was 'cause the thermostat is so touchy. Being 100% styrofoam, & fairly thick, at that, I'd think they'd be sufficiently insulated.

Me too however I’ve found that putting a folded towel under the styrofoam incubator that the temps were better kept. Also I just replaced my old styrofoam one. The new styrofoam is much better built.
Even at that I like the results of temps at or above 100 seldom 99.5 top of egg.
Good morning Whites

Good morning Abi. Hope you’re temps are warming up back there. Brother is in Philadelphia job related. Says it cold there. Course he’s from San Diego Ca so we have a different idea of cold.
DW flew into Denver in the middle of Winter one year & was surprised to see the natives running around in nothing more than sweaters
