EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

Not here, other threads and PMs. Good morning! Are you getting enough sleep yet?
Not yet. Two more wean this weekend, and then two left. Soon they will be done. Then I can switch to once a day milking and after next week they can go to twice a day bottles which will help.

Shindaiwa, hands down, with straight shaft (get up under bushes better). I bought one when I first went into business; liked it so well I bought one just like it a year later (I used to have help). Most years I didn't store them inside when they weren't being used, even over Winter. I had/have racks one one trailer rail made to hold trimmers; that where they stayed 'til I needed them next time. I never even ran the gas out of them over the winter; anything left in the tank was used the following season...no Sta-bil, even. Come springtime I pulled the rope 4-5 times & went to work. The 1st one finally died, but the 2nd one was still used every day when I shut down 20+ years later. It just don't get much better than that in my book.
Thanks. I just have an area that needs a weed eater. It is too tight for my push mower.

I didn't consider that you only need to use one for a little while every week or so; I used mine 5-6 days a week for 8 months a year for 20 years. You probably wouldn't need something quite as expensive as mine were. In fact, one with a 20 volt lithium battery might be just the ticket for your needs. Whatever you get, just be sure to get one with a 2-string head.

:sick

I really wanted a Nigerian Dwarf, but I heard some things about them and fences that I didn't like, so I figured two Alpines would work.
Yes, the little ones are harder to keep in, and much naughtier.
Alpines are good milkers. They are also better for your cold climate I think. Saanens would do well, but I don't like their milk like Nubian.
