Two days ago it was in the nineties, and too hot to stay outside. Yesterday was lightning. Today, it began to rain, and an excited little child exclaimed, “I hear rain! Turn off the tv!”
“Why?”
“We have to go outside!”
It was 58°. She was devastated about having to actually have clothing on, as well as her rain jacket with hood. Meanwhile, I froze my tush off because I don’t have a rain jacket (and I literally just now realized that I should’ve used an umbrella. I keep forgetting they exist!).
Even the chickens refused to come outside until they realized that I was there. Then they were only out long enough to ask me for treats. Everything the dog used to get is now put into an empty coffee can, and given to the flocks.
After a full hour of getting soaked, I was finally allowed to come inside.
