It finally happened , after years of chicken growing, in which I have NEVER lost one, today I have found my first dead chicken, she had some green vomit and green poop, it was fine yesterday . After chking the yard I found this, a young potato seedlings

Chickens, from my understanding, won't generally eat something that will harm them. IDK; never had the problem. At least you know the cause of the death; better than not knowing.

Yes, indeed, but I should known better... it just slipped under my Rader, didn't see it.
Chicken will try almost anything, and if they are more stupid than the average they will die from it.

My chickens never touch my potatoes..... Interesting.
I've not lost any chickens yet..... But I've only had then a few years.... I've lost a few ducks and it's very sad when it happens.
I figure it's my responsibility to keep them safe .... And when something happens I feel terrible.

Me too, it isn't a good feeling, but sh... hapens.
