I love that you didn't try to make it more en vogue with modern ideas of style. So many 20s "reproductions" try to make the garments from-fitting or define the waist in order to look more attractive to modern eyes, and as an historian with an interest in historical fashion it makes my eye twitch, lol.
I've been non-stop sewing jammies for all of my kids. They were meant to be for winter, but we re-did our garage apartment into a sewing room and that didn't get done till last month, so the "winter jammies" project will be more like the "Spring-and-I-hope-they-still-fit-next-winter jammies" project!
That's my project for next year! This year I'm working on a 40s-ish take on Narcissa Malfoy's outfit from Half-blood Prince with matching Draco school uniform for my son, and next year I want to do a 1897 outfit for Mina Harker from Dracula. For everyday wear I vastly prefer 50s clothes though, I just find them the most comfortable lol.How neat! I'm currently working on a vest and walking skirt combination based off of extant Victorian garments.
Ohhhh...HP+Dracula...*swoon*Yeah I don't do that lol. I'm very much into trying to construct the garments as close to the original as possible. I mean the 20s dress is like the t-shirt and jeans of historical dress, don't fix what ain't broke haha.
