I wonder how many eggs an oegb/silkie can cover
Was looking through the butterfly book again before bed - I was wrong. Though the Monarchs are indeed on their way through, these aren't Monarchs (for a number of subtle reasons) - they're Queens/Tropic Queens. Still pretty, though. (My CDO compelled me to get up out of bed, wake up the computer, and correct my error.Golly - I get a bad multi-day migraine, have a few catch up days at work, and here I am 1500+ posts behind. I'm so bad at keeping up here.
The Monarch butterflies are on the way through on their migration, and they were swarming around the viburnum in front of my house. So fun!![]()
Oh, and I was looking in my butterfly book - you remember that caterpillar that looked like bird poop that I fed to my chickens? It's the larval form of the giant swallowtail.![]()
I'm going to do a read back. BRB.

We don't have the monarchs here. We do get these every once and awhile
Good morning all.
I am so glad it's Friday!
My rooster has decided that it's completely acceptable to crow at all hours of the night. Is this normal?!?
