i am no good i am sure someone will help you eventuallyHello! I need some SERIOUS help! I had a really bad first hatching experience... I started with 28 of my own eggs (my hens refuse to go broody) and borrowed an incubator from a good friend who I assumed knew what she was talking about. Unfortunately, she didn't, and I lost ALL BUT ONE EGG because they were positioned in the bator incorrectly (pointed side up, chicks didn't developed past day 10, a lot of ruptured air sacks) So I have just this one lonely egg that has somehow defied all odds... it is day 24... no pipping, internal or external and it doesn't seem to have broken through to the air cell yet... while I've done TONS of research (that I should have done BEFORE attempting a hatch) but I'm not sure I'm brave enough to jump in and assist if that's where this is headed... how do I know if that's necessary? How will I know if the yolk sack is absorbed to a point that I CAN intervene????? PLEASE HELP MY LITTLE EGG MAKE IT!!!!
lolLi is on it; I'll defer to her. I'm about as sharp as the leading edge of a cloud on that stuff
angoraonly if they have babies.
lol
we want to milk our goats.... but there's all sorts of goats... Spanish goats are nice, if bottle fed. You can also get the ones that look like sheep - but are actually goats.
goat math LOLMy plan is to let them stay in my daughter's yard (it is enclosed with the pond front, and separate from my dog yard and the chickens free ranging area). The duck and goose go in that area, but I don't imagine that would be a problem with the goats. I am going to do a lot of research over the next 70 days! (or more if she misses any days LOL!) Thanks for the tips!
No no, I'm already bad at chicken math. Don't need to have a goat math problem too.![]()

Maybe you just have a special search engine.not a problem. I don't know why more vets don't know about the gas X strip. After I moved away from NV, I've been the one to inform most goat people/vets about the strips working better than baking soda, and it's one of the first things that comes up when you google ways to treat emergency bloat in goats... or, at least on my search engine it is
so stop in!!
x2 except an old spoiled hen of the kids, she is obnoxious if you have food in the back yard, sorta like the goats areYou'all are crazy chicken people... :-D
About all I can take of a chicken being overly friendly was my silkies biting my toes when feeding them.. stay away..
Love my jersey giant rooster, he leaves the coop when I'm feeding, and I didn't even train him unless you count picking him up and weighing him a few times, he hates that.
Or the time I trimmed his toenails and spurs, he didn't care much for that either. Lol!
OH my the days go fast Nathan!!!! I cant wait to see the little ones!!!! I am sorry its been rough, glad everyone is safe!!!Wowser is all i can say been a rough/interesting 5 days. Finally got power back this afternoon. Bldg I work out of has roughly 4 foot of standing water in it as of this afternoon. The county is split by the Neuse River. River finally crested this afternoon and hopefully will take the extra water with it when it drops. Seeing the destruction and devastation on T.V. doesn't do it justice. Tried posting a link but if you google a combination of Neuse River and Wayne county North Carolina that is my neck of the woods. It's bad is all I can say. Thankful that the family and I are all safe and didn't have any damage. In the big scheme of things losing power for 5 days is minor. I will admit when I came and saw the thread had to start over in a new one it was a bit gut wrenching because that is what a lot of the people here are facing. Hope everyone here is doing well. Haven't done a readback and not sure it will happen at this point. I know I had some tags but can't seem to retrieve them for some reason. If it was anything specific please re-tag, if it was offers of support or sympathy I greatly thank you. Wife is doing good and no twins yet. 8 days to go tomorrow.
lol Kaj!!!I was walking around with turkey poop on my chest, didn't even notice. My friend came over with her kids today, and was laughing, asked me if I knew I'd been pooped on.
We were sitting there discussing chickens. She wants some of my silkies, ducks and any extra geese I hatch. LOL
I told her I'd hatch anything she ever wanted, and hand-raise them too, as long as she took them home when it was time for them to go outside LOL
Quote: wonder if this is from the first two posts on the thread?
I am the type that would probably try to stop in and ask about their goats. If they sell them, they probably won't be offended if you were trying to get their contact information.I would like to.... except.... around these parts, you don't go down someone's driveway unless you are invited.![]()
They don't even have a phone number posted outside to call. But, I think I found their phone number posted on the board at TSC.
