EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

Kunie!!!!! I want them!!
oh no!!! they are lovely and expensive!!

cons: very expensive, they can die as fast as a chicken, limited gene pool (inbred), takes a big freezer, so cute you won't want to eat them

pros: friendly, eat grass, cute

Sally,
you are amazing, I do not think that there is a posting that you do not respond to and with careful thought. How do you find the time?

Mornin Beautiful Awesome KAT!

Shalom dear
Yes we are fine tanks, we starts 12 day vacation, we have a very nice and long holiday
Me and DW will go to Rhodes in Greece for a nice long weekend

This is Pebbles, my prized buff silkie rooster... He's staying for good. He will break up fighting cockerels, keep them from terrifying the hens, yet not try to murder them. He'll warn the flock when danger lurks. He treats the ladies wonderfully, giving them tidbits, but he doesn't overmate them.
Best of all? He respects me fully.
Sounds wonderful. I might have to get some hatching eggs from you from your silkie flock next spring ;o

I would if I had silkie girls, every single silkie I've ever gotten has been male. :he

The white ones are sultan..... Dunno what a silkie sultan x would look like....

Hmmmm.... well, depending on how my batch of 14 does, I could probably have some silkies I could send you in the spring, to see if we can get you some girls?

Lets have some color today!

POST your ROOSTERS!!

share some things you like or dislike about them! dont forget the breed too!

How very timely for me. I took a bunch of chicken photos last night!

This is Smoky, my Lavender Orpington. He is 17 weeks old and just now getting his tail feathers. He is super fluffy and very cautious. He is also super clumsy as though he hasn't grown into his own feet.

This is little Lemon. He is 24 weeks old and super tiny. He is the sweetest rooster I've ever had. He is supposed to be a cream legbar, but he is definitely not one. Any breed guesses appreciated.

This is Pokey (aka Roadrunner). He is a 17 week old Olive Egger. He is very FAST and I cannot catch him to handle him anymore. He does all he can to avoid me and I like having him around. He crows all day long and seems like he will be a good flock protector. Too bad he wasn't a hen, as I really wanted Olive Eggs and he's the only one that hatched.
