EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

sat down on a bucket in the African Goose pen yesterday, caught "Mason", turned him upside down on my lap and the others came very near to see what was happening, having those big birds that close and honking can be a little unsettling. Wish there was a way for you to see and feel that emotion.

When Henry, my African Grey goose, gets too close to me in the yard I get very intimidated.

I get whatcha mean... It is sort of like -not quite- being in the middle of the draft pen, holding treats. (I do know you aren't supposed to do that, but I forgot I had them in my pocket)

My neighbor had several aggressive geese, they respected me but they still weren't the kind of birds you turned your back on.

This is why I only wanted like, 1 pair of geese. lol the sebastapol's are supposed to be really calm and docile... Geese biting me scares me. LOL

never actually been bitten by a goose, but there's a first time for everything.

My aunt had a pet goose. When she was moving from her small farm - she was catching her half-feral cat. The goose watched her for over an hour, and the minute she caught the thing, it snuck up behind her and bit her on the butt, making her drop the cat and have to start all over.

She was ******.

I need to continue to pick them up, for their sake and mine.

Quote: I can appreciate that there's nothing like being there, & I'd love seeing Lambeau myself, but

I can see more on TV with the isolation shots, replay, & elevated camera angles
I don't get lost going to or coming from the little boys room
I don't have to endure some obnoxious drunken slob splashing beer down the back of my neck
I don't have to rearrange anyone's facial features for trying to pick my pocket
I don't have to put up with the traffic getting to & coming from the stadium
I can smoke whenever the spirit moves me.

I'll stay home, thank you very much!
I don't have to pay exorbitant prices just to park or buy a ticket to the game if by some rare chance they weren't sold out.

@Sally Sunshine

The 4 littles are all fluffy and knocking the eggs around in there. When should I check for pips again? I forgot, this is the first time I've had more then 2 eggs at lock down. I've got another batch to go into the incubator at any time..... so I'm just waiting to clear this one out. The others could still pip soon and be born over the next day or two, but I need my incubator back! LOL
