They looked very bad on arrival. The gold sebrights still drink on their own, if I hold them near water, but otherwise that's about all the activity they are doing. The 1 silver that's not active won't even do that...so I'm dipping its bill. Keep setting them back in the ground up bowl of food, so if they do get jostled and decide to peck they might get some food. The gel is nearly gone, as all the chicks were attracted to it, but it says good for up to 200 chicks, so I think the aren't meant to have much anyways...

Scramble them up some eggs. do you have any poultry cell on hand? a drop to the beak works wonders. I had 2 that I had to help hatch-1 didnt make it but the other is doing fabulous!

Okay. I have considered other alternatives and watched infomercials. Honey(s), I am ordering a new vacuum now. Thank you for helping me decide! You are the sweetest!

I do have poultry cell, both powdered and liquid...did thatcwith my hatched babies too...wasn't sure on how much vitamin is in the fro-gel, didn't want to over kill the vitamins given. I'll do that though when I get back home. Running to Home Depot to get wood to make a larger brooder for my older chicks. Wish it was warmer out... lol

I am so hard core!!!! I am nervous as heck cause I am going up against both my breeders, the champ of the last show and the judge who gave Fuzz Reserve of Show! Today I made them a "special" breakfast to work on feather quality and weight gain on my cockerel and pullets. And yes-they all get baths and beak, nail and comb care the day before the show! Fuzz, Peck, Sausage, Bondo and Puff are all going to Ohio Nationals! (sausage may get replaced by "Bro"-Stans brother until I can get him to mature a bit more. And lots of table work for Bondo and Peck... Yup i will probably be watching this on Tuesday after OT!!!!

I buy stock tanks and they just live in the house. I put a fire place grill over the top to keep them from flying out once they are older.

the only thing that bugs me, is with ducks, I clean 3-4x as much as I do with baby chicks

See if that's big enough you can see the little spikes i'm talking about. Even his tuft is spikey.

I hope it works out well. I put in tile, hardwood and laminate when I built my house. No need for a fancy vacuum here.

I have used a shop vac for a while. I just went back to the Kirby because I am tired of the mess of emptying the shop vac, the short cord, and long extension cord, and small head.

It is actually hot pink and turquoise. It was a special order, and while I am not fond of pink and thought it would be ugly I actually liked it so much I bought more to make one for me.

theyre all very pretty, i personally am NOT a fan of pink or purple but my daughter is so oh well LOL

looks like it is just feathering in, i wonder if it has something to do with that black gene thing that junebuggena was talking about
