EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

Down to one Sebright. I noticed the last two would often "clean" right over their hips... why cleaning the last one livings butt (just in case) it was trying to "clean" my hand at the same time, and even attempted biting... I started thinkin...maybe they have a pain inside near their hips...kidneys? So with the last one, I got the up at least once an hour to move all the hatchlings and the special needs chicks to the water bowl. Most would drink immediately, and silver Sebright is now eating again. Doesn't move a whole lot, but can zip around the cage if she wants to. Still alive after me sleeping 6 hrs... I'm worried about while I'm at work though :(

Separate note...these little piglet super active babies...hatched out of supposed pink EE eggs(with Americana as part of the description) all hatched identical, chicks dead in shell were identical...first thought: Buff Orpington... After searching their available birds, it looks like that or their "cinimmon queens" Guesses?

I just found a recipe for gummy worms in my desk. Anyone want it? Yes? Okay.

2 pks (3 oz) Flavored Jello
1 pkg unflavored gelatin
3/4 C whipping cream
3 C boiling water
15 drops green food coloring
100 flexible straws
A tall container such as a quart milk carton

Make Jello, and cool to lukewarm. Add the cream and food coloring. Pack straws into the container, and slowly pour the Jello into/over the straws. Use a rubber band to bind the straws if they are not tight in the container. Allow to firm up in the fridge. Use a rolling pin on the straws to release the worms.
