EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

Fred's hens suggested for my two breeding pens for seperate groupings to move the cock in Sunday night and out Saturday morning letting him rest till Sunday night (24 hr min. whatever day pattern works with your schedule). Then into the second pen for the next week pulling on Saturday morning and Sundry night back to pen one.

As for my decision I just meant that cocks and hens would all have to be rearranged in the spring because they will not be with the correct groupings.

Quote: That is weird, how old are your hens? What type of pheasants do you have? I didnt know you had them too! Was the turkey a broiler type that his legs couldnt hold him or something else? Im sure he was delish! I still cant do rabbits, just cant do them for eatin, Im a woos when it comes to them.

What do you mean hot wire? I know run electric fence but how do you set it up for pigs? I would assume they still can dig under fence no? That is what scares me about pigs, getting loose and taking off
Pigs & hogs are supposed to be the easiest stock to contain with hot wire. You don't need more than a single wire, < a foot off the ground. They won't try to jump it, & if they try rooting under it they get zapped in the snout. I was taught that if an animal, any animal, gets zapped in front of the eyes it'll back off. If it gets zapped behind the eyes, chances are it'll go on through.
