Truthfully I don't know! I have it set up in my bedroom. It's the only room I have that I'm sure the kids won't bother the eggs. it's an enclosed garage turned into a room so the temp varies usually from what's on the thermostat but only by a degree or so. We are in NC so we have some harsh humidity in summer but this time of year it usually isn't a problem.


I think you said you have the humidity set does it have a automatic humidifier?

Yup! No prob. Oh and if you send it to a butcher try to get some of the belly meat (or any part that you make bacon with) back uncured so that you can make your own bacon, cause trust me there is nothing as good as home made bacon! It tastes about 10,000 x better than store bought.

We send ours off, the last time we had someone do them (my 4-H pigs) half the meat came back tasting like boar which it shouldn't have considering I didn't have boars or it was green because they didn't seal it probably. That's the last time we do bussiness there. So make sure you do your research on who's going to prossces it for you, I would ask around and get the local opinion. Not many people do hogs around here so we kinda just have to wing it.
