There's a lot of great info here! I have some questions if someone is willing to answer them! I have been incubating Pekin duck eggs for 20 days (tomorrow). The parents are ours. 8 mo old. They are developing great! Except the air cell is like a 7 day egg. I have my humidity set at 55, however it stays around 65-69. Is this the problem?

Also, I have added 2 other batches of duck eggs since then. I bought a cheapo tabletop 7 egg incubator strictly for lockdown and hatching. There will be 5 duck eggs going in it later this week. There's a temp control, but no humidity control. How do I fight the humidity battle with no monitor? Any advice? This is my first round of incubating. I have movement in all the eggs. Just the air cell is my concern along with how to safely get them to hatch with the humidity issue.

Don't know what happened last night but we lost the serrama roo I hatched,our black silkie hen and a white silkie.we don't know what happened to them but the buetifull serama roo and my only black silkie hen are gone no feathers at all but the white one was dead feather all over but no blood at all so now I don't have any seramas are silkies hens I think.we where going to breed the seramaa roo to the frizzle hen I hatched but cant now.i have no clue what happened.

Me too! Didn't really care much for them two at first, odd. But then they killed and ate that opossum in their chicken coop, butcher all sorts of stuff, they're pretty cool! Loved the wood gas fired truck, dw thought it had to be fake. No, I remember reading yrs ago in a mother earth news that they did that. Researched it. Definitely going to give it a try. Maybe even a wood gas fired generator!

I'm sorry to interrupture but I need some help. This is my first hatch and I am at day 19. Two eggs have pipped this evening. 1 about 2 hours ago and one 30 minutes ago. The one 30 minutes ago is at the wrong side od the egg. I can hear it chirping. Should I do anything? No movemention on the one that pipped two hours ago. Temp is low at 98.9 and humidity is at 69%

Ok. Thank you! Should I be concerned about the temp or humidity at this point? I dry incubated without a fan. I am in Florida so hum. Was almost a constant 35% last 18 days.

still air generally needs a higher temp, is the temp taken at midpoint of egg?

yes, several. This is for my son''s science project, but I've kinda fallen in love with these little eggs and I am freaking out jus a tad. Even kicked him out of his room so I could sleep close to the incubator.

Let's say that someone accidentally put bad gas in their child's 4-wheeler and now the 4-wheeler does not work. Is there any hope of fixing it? I have since drained all of the bad gas out.

YES it can be fixed!!! if i were closer i would love to do it for you!!!!

I've delt with this. Should be fine. See if it has a drain bolt on carb also. Put good gas in WITH some dry gas, crank it over till it starts. It will clean out. Might have to dry spark plug, I use break cleaner spray, and then spray wd-40 in the cylinder (also works as a mild starting fluid).
If the gas went bad IN the 4-wheeler, whole nother story, this ethanol gas gunks up carbs and injectors, eats away seals, usually carbs will need rebuilding. Use long storage Stabil in anything that will set for over a month. Anything I have that I use high test in like my chainsaws I get the ethanol free gas, and still use Stabil.

Um... I am not mechanically inclined... I just wanted to make sure if I took it somewhere, to know what to expect them to say really. So I don't get taken advantage of.
It is a 2016 model, not sure brand, etc... I got it for my daughter for her birthday and within a month I ruined it.

For a few weeks i have been telling my husband that i keep smelling gas when i am around my car, whether getting in/out, walking by, loading child in
he keeps telling me that there is nothing, or that it is on his shoes, he threw something in the dumpster -whatever

Sunday 10/30 i went grocery shopping and as i was driving the smell kept getting stronger, i was stuck on a hill (nose up at an angle) and the smell was like someone was POURING gasoline into my car, got to the store, called my hubby, he was hunting, got voicemail. Go in and shop. I was seething.

he calls, i have been at the store for awhile and feel bad for interrupting him hunting, he is whispering, i tell him to call me back when he is all done hunting
Child and i take FOREVER and a GD day at the store

, hubby calls as we are leaving
I tell him that my car is broken and i am NOT driving it again until the F***ing thing is fixed!! i was going home and it could sit there and rot!
there is a parts store across the street (kinda) where we have an account he calls to order parts to see if i can pick them up, they are closed, DERRRRR itsa Sunday. I am now going home, car BARELY starts, strange its like it is starving for fuel! Whodathunkit!

I drive home with all the windows open, sunroof open, heat blasting (its cold out),
All i could think is 'my car is going to explode while i am driving home' its a 45-60minute drive

dd falls asleep in the back, i am starting to feel sick

get home, he is there when i pull in, i park, he glances underneath and is like 'yeah thats a bad leak in your sending unit., i can see gas running down the side of your tank'

i'm going to kill someone

put away groceries, he helps, kinda.

Now we go for a walk in the woods to look for deer, we see 3 does, 1 is HUGE - YAY

Monday, 10/31 - we get up early, hubby drives my car to work, complains that it will barely start and he needs to hurry before it dies in the yard, or on the way
i was supposed to be sleeping in and getting breakfast in bed, instead i am stuck with my husbands truck and driving around running errands for him

finally get to go home for 430ish just to rush back out to go to my moms house for trick or treating

No worries there, i did NOT forget my wine, she made us pizza

i also had yesterday off from work

I saw some of those color names in a scovy article. Mine are "yellow" and "silver yellow."
