EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

omg omg omg omg omg we got it but then wwait what was that
What?

communication?
or lack thereof

I woke up @ 5:00, but refused to get out of bed on 4.5 hours' sleep

Wouldn't a door the same width as the opening drag when shutting?
Not yellow kiwi...yellow watermelon. Used to be found only in & around Sand Springs OK, back in the late 60's
Yes it would. But if you aren't making a door from scratch, the door kit will have explicit directions on spacing.

I love all the more obscure types of melons like cassava and Persian.

arrow points to shotglass of water, I fill when it runs out and will add more at lockdown...penny from before 1982 in side glass.

14 grocery store eggs in incubator, hen has 5 (up to 7 may be clear)

Lol! :-D . Got anything cooking yet?
Now that I've put over 30 in the freezer, culled down to just breeders, I'm going to have a couple cornishX pullets just happen to appear. Dw had been so mad about my feed bill I didn't dare pick them up yet. Have someone that saved a couple healthy one's for me, going to try crossing them with my white naked neck cockerel.
Seriously hun, I don't know where they came from...

They have a very good sales/marketing team, and all of their literature is carefully worded so that when people read it they think they're deworming or preventing worms, but it doesn't do either. They also sell something called Oxy-E, which is just Oxine. So if any of you think this might be a way to deworm, don't be fooled, it's nothing but a supplement.

i found this thread on here and it seems pretty informatinve

Thanks for the reply, I will definitely watch it closely. I marked them just now and 2/5 are saddle shaped. I think they were the two that were closest to the broken ones in the shipping box. Here's a couple pics to show you what I'm looking at:
Good Luck!!

Question:
28" door opening, framed w/ 2x4's
2" thick door

How wide can the door be w/o getting hung up on the door frame?
i would go 3/8 smaller to 1/2" depending if interior or exterior

omg omg omg omg omg we got it but then wwait what was that
we caught it
we caught a owol last night. i wouldnt think that would drop down in a small trampoline frame to kill the chickens.but we got him. and this morning he was trying to get lose while i was trying to get him down well a hawk or a falcon actually swooped to attack him while i was right there so i shot at him too so he doesnt get any chickens.
You know Owls are a Federally protected bird??

All hawks and owls are federally protected under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act (16 USC, 703-711). These laws strictly prohibit the capture, killing, or possession of hawks or owls without special permit.
