we caught a owol last night. i wouldnt think that would drop down in a small trampoline frame to kill the chickens.but we got him. and this morning he was trying to get lose while i was trying to get him down well a hawk or a falcon actually swooped to attack him while i was right there so i shot at him too so he doesnt get any chickens.
You're not allowed to do that!

Birds of prey are experts at dropping into openings to take prey. What keeps the raccoons from climbing in or foxes from jumping in?

Of all the things I've lost in life, I miss my eyes the most. I hate carrying glasses around.
I've also lost at least 100 pair in the last 20+ years. I buy them in 3 packs and am usually down to 1 within a week.

I think he said that quitting smoking was the easiest thing he'd done. He did it a hundred times.

And don't waste one.

No, but she said 6 of the people on the Metro bus were killed when they took the brunt of the impact.
I think the drivers survived. It was an ugly scene.

All hawks and owls are federally protected under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act (16 USC, 703-711). These laws strictly prohibit the capture, killing, or possession of hawks or owls without special permit.

chicks in the fall need more heat but they will lay eggs sooner

X2 I'm fond of autumn chicks. I think they feather out better because it is cooler. I'm not a big fan of summer chicks. Can't keep them cool enough.

Many people suggest that spring chicks are more robust because new forage and insects are available but I think if one is careful at providing excellent nutrition, it shouldn't be an issue.
I may start comparing weight gain between each season of chicks.
