This is how I imagine my guineas talking...

White #1: WE GO FLY OVER THE FENCE.

Lav: FENCE TOO HIGH. CANNOT SEE TOP.

Pearl: I DON'T BELIEVE YU

<Crashes into fence cause they can't judge the distance to top... The chickens can>

Pearl again: SOMETHING TRIED TO EAT ME. RUN.

<All run around in circles, screaming. After a few min they stop>

White #2: WE FLY OVER COOP. IT SMALLER.

<One after the other, they take off, fly over the coop that is easily 4 feet taller than the fence, and land>

Lav: SCARY OUT HERE. RUN.

White #1 & 2: GO UP. UP IS SAFE.

<They fly into the trees, screaming all the way>

Pearl: TOO HIGH UP. MUST GET AWAY. <Takes off and lands in the run>

<Other three copy the Pearl and fly into the run, just cause there might be something scary out there>



This is repeated about 1-2 times a week.....

Wow!!!! I take a sabbatical and we lose our home?!? Lol! Congratulations!!!! I hope everyone is well~ I've missed you all! Just a little update....

After two dismal attempts at hatching Marans, I think I found the secret, resulting in 7/10 beautiful babies! They were shipped from CT, to CA. The breeder told me to run the Brinsea (generously loaned to me by [@]Jessimom ) at 40%, 100 degrees... she recommended only upping it to 45% at MOST for "lockdown". She actually told me to leave it at 40, only upping it if they were having trouble... I was reluctant, but figured I had nothing to lose- I did go up to 45 though (couldn't stand it) and... Voilá! They hatched beautifully!!! Perfect, fluffy and dry! I just wanted to mention this for anyone having trouble with these dark shelled beauties.

Back to be being addicted, have an empty bator... ISO first import Silverudd Blues!
