EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

TJ egg update.
So it is day 22/23. Bator is at 99- 99.5 so not really cold.
2 chicks out and one pipped.
It seems like these guys need the extra time.

Chicks are yellow and single combed but have a wide comb area (almost thought they were pea combed -suspect they are hetero) and they look like they will be crested :ep
Clean white (not yellow I think) legs.
So mom is likely leghorn but dad could be anything. Oh well at least it is not Silkie!

The ayam cemani hatched just fine -in fact early with same temp setting.

I reluctantly put the bator temp up to 100.5 (checked with clinical Mercury thermometer).

Reluctantly as I have 3 dozen new eggs in there and don't want to cook them, but really not sure it is the right thing to do. Thinking that I may put it back down to 99.5 when I get home from work.

2 remarks if I may
1. The EPITHALAMUS and the pineal glad are responsible to the light response and the circadian rhythm.
2. The Hormon that starts the reproductive cycle is Gonadotropin Realising Hormon that short light period (photopetoda ) influence and enhance the secretion of its antagonist that prevents the secretion of the GNRH ( Gonadotropin Relishing Hormone )

Thanks. But doesn't the signal first travel via the optical nerve to the hypothalamus and then to the epithalamus and thereby reach the pineal gland?

My laptop's been slower than the 2nd coming for the last couple of days.
I'm also getting a lot of "You've already submitted.." messages when I haven't.

Anyone else?

Ken, I just got the 'Already Submitted' message on another rarely posted thread.
I have had the page freeze when I click the submit button, I change threads and come back to this and viola my post is there.
