I have no clue what will be done with this pool, it would make a great roof for a turkey pen wouldnt it ?
Sally, there are some really awesome aquaponics plans and ideas, worm farms, etc. based on emptied swimming pools... Check it out!
yes, I would love a fish pond out of it, but maybe someday I get a real pond I can stock with catfish
and the kids still get their pool

I really like lemongrass in soups and with chicken. I am freezing this batch (it's a LOT more than one would need for a long time).
Did you know... that lemongrass is the origin of citronella oil and is a natural pest repellant? I will be looking up ways to use it like that. I've decided to take the extra leaves, etc. and mulch them around some of my plants (but not others) to see if the dried leaves work well as a mulch to repel bugs.
I got the canisters on Amazon. They stay on the stove with the magical Museum Putty!!!! (I used to have cats - very helpful in reducing breakage of vases, etc...) https://www.amazon.com/Quakehold-99111-Collectors-Museum-Putty/dp/B000FJU290/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1479947184&sr=8-2&keywords=museum+putty So sorry to hear this. You'll want to work with your mother to determine where the issue is - do you understand the material or not, and if you do, do you have problems taking tests. Then you'll know how to proceed. Have a great holiday! x2 Gonna be a GOOOOOOOOOOOD year for fruitcake... Congratulations!!! I spent all day in the yard. Bit by bit, I'm converting garden beds that look like this: Into beds that look like this: Some hose repair along the way, as well as an attempt at lemongrass harvest - this was my view for several hours, and I'm not even half done! I'm trying to wake my sourdough starter up so I can bake bread tomorrow, but it's being lazy - just had to refeed it. I'll put the turkey in the brine tonight before bed. I'm pooped, so I'm going to watch Chicken People and drink spiked egg nog. - Ant Farm

Quote: Yes, they are. You bury them up to the neck in a bed of plants, and fill them, and they act like a low-tech slow steady irrigation system in hot dry climates. They've been used for, what, thousands of years, I think? (I'll have to look it up). You have to be sure NOT to use them around plants with strong woody roots, because those roots will actually break the pots. I have used them with cucumbers and tomatoes in summer time. They are sitting there because I pulled them up from the adjacent (previously cucumber) bed - I don't really need to use them in fall/winter.
I already had them, but was re-inspired by reading "Growing food in a hotter, drier land" by Gary Nabhan (great book).
