EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

The frost killed my luffa plants so I picked the ripest gourds to hang in the barn and finish drying, I picked 113 off 5 plants :ep :th Not bad for plants that didn't flower till July.

Nice I'll try less water next year, making a sunscreen out of them of sorts. I only had 5 on mine more are starting but won't make it. Guess I'll pick mine before it gets too much colder. Two freezes so far but not hard ones. The winter squash has also put on more fruit since I picked them. Grandson didn't realize pumpkin or squash came from plants. It's always fun to show them the farm, well to them it's a farm.

Thanks. Interesting that yours didn't do as well even though they had more water :idunno Ah. Interestingly enough my squash didn't die from the freezes. :hu Lol, yeah it is! My nephew and I planted some pumpkins but we were really late getting them in so they didn't do anything :( We'll try again next year.

We have them in the market, I think that they have to dry on the plant.

They look like this

if it were dry and hot we could let them dry on the plant but if you let the frost get to them they'll rot on the vine

I think that they will rot in this condition too.......

:idunno  i have no idea

Well I've read and watched videos were they say if you don't pick and dry them off vine after a frost it'll rot so I'm assuming that they've been there themselves and that they shouldn't rot if you pick them. :hu

Yes it is. Last year it was the cherry tree. Are those cherries? Amazed they were on a tree.

Yesterday we found a praying mantis. At first they wanted nothing to do with it. Giggling the entire time it was on their arm once they let it on them. The dad never did hold it. Of course they had to wash their hands after holding it.
