It is hatch day (well the TJ eggs were due on Sunday but are way late again).

Kids expect to all have a smart phone. I am guilty of giving in to that, (but so that I can always know where they are).


There is more computational power on a first generation smart phone than was taken to the moon on the apollo landings. What do they need with all that??


I confess - I gave them way too much stuff when they were little. Should have just taken them to the beach more often.

My kids have way too many electronics, but I'm a big gamer/computer geek, so it's important to me that my kids know how to use electronics. However, we definitely limit it.

My daughter has an iphone, that was her dad's old one. She's allowed to use it for music, netflix, and asking Siri questions that are educational. LOL It doesn't have service, and only works if it's connected to our home wifi - dad set up parental controls on it though so she can't accidentally ask Siri to look something up X rated. lol

My toddler is in love with the iphone/music, so i'm getting him his own mp3 player for his stocking this year. he likes to steal phones, so I figure this can be "his phone" lol it's not like he uses a phone to talk to people yet lol

My oldest doesn't have a phone, but he breaks everything. He's broken his laptop, 2 DS's, 3 tablets... etc. He still has a laptop/tablet, but they are hand me downs when we updated/replaced our old stuff.

My daughter also has a laptop, when I got my new one, I gave her my old one.

Our TV is also not cable, it's an old computer I built, that can play games, and we use wifi to stream TV rather than pay for cable TV. ;o

I've also donated/given away laptops and old PC parts to people who couldn't afford to buy one in the past though ^.^ We always have extras laying around.


I don't think we've had a house phone in over 8 years though!!

Anyone ever hear of a duck falling madly in love with a turkey? It seems that my young Drake, Cosmo, is in love with my two royal palm turkey hens lol. He runs out of the coop in the morning when I open the doors, runs to the turkey fence and starts hissing and washing his tail, following the girls along the fence until they fly out n (those two never stay in their pen). He always runs to greet them, just like the other ducks, with his tail wagging and head bobbing! He stays pretty close to them all day long now (with his two duck girls too of course!)

Nopers, but my friend had a dog and a drake fall in love.... The drake would sleep on the porch just to be near the dog!
