sorry about the eggs, time for a better incubator, and it looks like you got a lot of great input too
you could build one
Thanks guys, I'll keep you posted but I think we have a dud. I'll get a new incubator and collect some more eggs. Any small incubator recommendation would be greatly appreciated. I really want to hatch some of my girls eggs and now I'm determined to make it happen.
We will be here for you!!

@campingshaws Too cute, but boy are they growing fast.

So are my month old kids.

Wow, they are getting big and super cute!

Guess what I found in my doe's pen this morning.

(you said doe and at first i thought u meant goat not rabbit)

Not that I am advocating drinking, but maybe you should start with a handicap

This is how i always start

Are you cooking it or incubating it?

It would be nearly impossible to get embryonic development to go full term on a heat pad. And then you have the humidity issue.
Any idea what the internal egg temperature is sitting on a heat pad with ambient air all around?

Or are you just trolling us?

I tried that but maybe I didn't have enough ice/water, or too much water? But nonetheless it didn't read like it should have. My device is in C, but hey the Hygrometer is accurately spot on! :)

good luck with the thermo!

Is nobody going to give an opinion about the cock by himself in quarantine? It is supposed to drop into the teens tonight get up to 29 tomorrow, and back down to 14.
Will he be OK? Should I risk an extension cord and bulb or a pair for company?

I've just served a cease & desist notice on the local squirrel population in the vicinity of my deer feeder; their presence is no longer desired, nor will it be tolerated. Twice in the last week they've pulled the wires to the spinner motor loose or chewed through them. The feeder's been in the same spot since I got it several years ago, and they've just now decided to vandalize it.

I would think that if he's out of the wind and elements he should be alright.

Have you written them a strongly worded letter?

i think he'd be fine, you could give him one of your other birds that you dont care about as much, as a test bird

Not everyone make it......

I know.

:hit :hugs I am sorry for the loss. At least it is early enough to rebreed if she is OK.

Thanks. I'm going to give her a two week rest, hopefully by then I'll have some more does :fl

I'm sorry she miscarried :( Hopefully you'll be able to rebreed her in a couple weeks.
It's life I suppose, it's bound to happen sinner or later. Yup, I hope so.

The only nice thing is he is from ChickenCanoe so at least he is NPIP. I just don't know what else he has been exposed to verses my flock and I have only had him since Saturday.

He is in this coop with the plexiglass windows now slid into the slots for winter.
