Hello !

Hi Chaos!

Hello MC! Enjoy fantasyland!

Hi Dan!
Morning Mike.

hmmmmm could use those ripped 2x4 and build out on the downward side so it has about a foot "drip edge" if you can call that that lol
but doing that could probably use a 4 foot section starting the bottom of each side the correct installation and then one full sheet rounding the top overlaping the sides.
Good morning too!

Hi dan!

yes it does when one can be a hermit though
Might be cheaper to just attach a piece of gutter to the bottom edge and call it a day. If your going to add an overhang on the sides why not just build a traditional roof?

Nicely done! The only thing you left out was that Banti misspelled "suspense" and got busted by whites... :plbb

And on that note, I'm making another cup of camomile tea and going to bed.

Maybe I missed that not-so-accidentally :P

Hey all!! I'm on my third hatch now. Last thing to hatch was a handful of quail about 10+ days ago, and I put 8 more on right away, so I'm going into lockdown for those soon.

My question was though;
(With a short back story)

I've been looking for Buff Orpingtons everywhere and finally got my hands on some from a breeder. He had roosters in with the girls I bought off of him, so I did the reasourceful thing and chucked all the eggs that my new Big fat ladies laid into the incubator. Sure enough, a couple were fertile, and I'm expecting two lovely little Orpington chicks soon in about a week's time.

The catch is! One of the eggs was like a day (or two?) later to be set. So I was wondering if it would be chill for me to put them both into lockdown at the same time? Just because I want them to be able to chat while positioning and pipping away. (I like the three day lockdown, so D-18 for chooks, D-15 quail)

Advice anyone??

Thanks! :)

Howdy, and welcome :frow
Staggered hatches aren't usually a good idea, but I wouldn't think just a day would make much difference...

ummmm Banty whats up with your hatch like in full?  they duck I forget ugggg  excuse my thoughts they are a mess right now!!  Dan has  ugly wabbits lol

I'll just copy what I said to whites.... These are svart hona eggs, 10 of 'em, on day 3.

E. It's hard for me to explain, but basically the lights aren't turning off and on quickly enough. The lights go off at 100 (yay!) but they don't turn on again until 95, or with some tinkering that somehow changed it but I don't know why, 98.

(I turned the thermostat control back and forth and wiggled it. Why that changed it, I have notta clue...)

I'm horrible at describing stuff, sorry. hmm.png

I do think I was able to fix the previous problem with what I did in the upgrades, which was to tighten the loose screws that were holding it to the bator.

It happened again this mornin, but only was goin down to 97....
I put a blanket over it at night, and this reading is taken the instant I take it off? I don't see how the blanket could impact it, bit thought I'd throw that out there.... You'd think if it was ambient temp it'd be down all the time, not just swinging.

Hawk out back watching the chickens!!!! different kind looked pretty much cream speckled brown color uggggg at least they are in a run and not free ranging, although not sure that is better since its opentop but in the woods

What kind do you usually see? A juvenile red tail hawk maybe?
