Run has at least 360 square feet enough for 36 chickens

Sophie, if possible I'd have 6+ sq feet per bird in the coop, and 20 in the run.... It will help keep health problems down.

Yes I put the bare minimum Of space required
With 6 square feet you can fit 9
With 20 square feet per bird you can fit 18

What if I made the coop 9' long and 7' wide? I can't have it too much bigger than that, city regulations and all...

Okay so I'm at my desk, I have the basic outline of the coop and run, and how long everything is but I can't figure out how to get a square foot calculation. Any math whizzes wanna help me out? Here's a pic of what I have so far.

I wouldn't call myself a math whiz but area is length X width.

I just read dragon's post, I'll make it 6 sq feet per bird in the coop, because I think we would get one extra for me to show in 4-H

That would fit in 10 and a *half* chickens each with 6 feet of space



*I would count a OEGB a half chicken *

I can only have up to ten hens, so the for the run, I can change the measurements as much as possible
