So I finished another drawing of the coop, does it look ok? Any suggestions?
Only thing I see that I'd do differently, be it right or wrong, is to cut out that section above the door where your holes are. I'd make it rectangular, same width as the door (just 'cause it'd look better), cover the opening with 1/4" hardware cloth overlapping the edges of the "window" by 2" all the way around, and frame it out with 1x2's on the outside.

As Whites says. More ventilation the better. It will help keep bedding dryer

Also, the only dimension I can make out is 7'. I'd make it 8' to reduce waste. I believe I'd add a vent window opposite the one above the door, as well.
x2

My new coop I'm planning on making is going to be 12' x 16' instead of 12' x 14', just coz that reduces waste enough the extra space is essentially free.

Planning on going for a gambrel style mini barn, with maybe even an attic for wood storage...

Also contemplating a concrete base for the coop. If I mixed it myself, it wouldn't be that much more expensive than raising the whole thing, with supporting beams and all.

I'd be able to sleep at night without wondering if I'll have a coop full of live birds tomorrow.....

Quote: I have yet another suggestion, for both of you: There's a software out there called Sketch Up. You can get a free version. If you can figure out how to use it (I can't), it's a great tool for the planning you're both doing. It's a poor man's CAD program.
