EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

Quote: Looking at this post from the pinned links at the beginning, the air cells are looking between 14-18 day size. Sooooo, I think I'll keep the humidity on the slightly high end, around 50%, like what we did for my aloha NN hatch. I thought the no candling rule for days 10-14 was not about light, but about handling them, since they were rotating into position at that time.

I just went to GFF to look - OMG, did you see they now have a chicken called the DEATHLAYER?!?!

(If I had the room and unlimited time and money, I'd love to have Black Penedesenca, Isbars, Ayam Cemanis, Light Sussex, Lavender Wheaten Ameraucana, Orust, Brabanter, and Kraienkoppe - and the DEATHLAYER, of course! Oh, and several types of turkeys and ducks and geese, and goats, and, and, and.... )

I dont think momma knows about handling them around that time lol, I use set the candler on the eggs in the bator I dont really ever move them except turning
