EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

Exactly!
Randomly divide the egg batch to 2 groups, sanitize one and the other just dipping in clean warm water , and incubate them together and see the % .
The vet college recommend treating the eggs from the ms chickens. Temperature of a hundred must be maintained so as not to send contaminants into the egg. I don't remember what the viricide was. My vet said you could use a kitchen ratio of bleach, but remember the tater temp must be constant let sit for a few seconds and then use individual paper towels to dry, but don't rub.

Thanks dax!

Hey yall I got a question can u make a heat lamp solar powered

The short answer is no. It can be done but prohibitively expensive. Generating heat with electricity requires a lot of kW. Solar voltaic (electric) for use around the clock requires sufficient number of panels and storage capacity. Batteries are expensive. Since the sun doesn't shine around the clock, you would have to have a large amount of battery backup to run your heat lamp at night.
When using solar, it works best with things that don't produce heat, like LED lighting, computers or other low wattage electronics.
You can heat water or air much more efficiently with solar but anything requiring sunlight needs storage capacity if you want something 24/7.
If you heat water with solar, you need a large, well insulated storage tank to have hot water at night.
If you heat air with solar, you need a lot of stone or concrete as a heat sink to maintain the heat generated during the day.

Yup. Have rearranged pantry, done three loads of laundry, and repackaged and organized my spices. Also cleaned out and organized the drawer where I keep ziplock bags, etc.

I think I'll go rearrange the dishes now...

You sound like me. Except that I would have rearranged furniture, and torn up a floor or three.
